I recently purchased an external smartphone microphone for recording better sound quality when using the OM3. The issue I have encountered though is that when the external mike is installed, the port at the bottom of the phone has to be on the outside edge of the OM3 gimbal, which means that the camera end is towards the gimbal side.
The only way I can use the gimbal in this configuration is to hold the gimbal 90 degrees to the left which has the phone 'under-slung'. I did a live-stream yesterday which went for over 90minutes and because I was holding the OM3 in this position for the entire stream, my right hand was cramping and in pretty bad pain at the end of the stream.
Has anybody else experienced similar issues when using the OM3 with an external mike connected to the smartphone ? The microphone I am using is this one: RØDE Microphones - VideoMic Me-L
