Osmo Action 2 is taking a page out of the Insta360 One R by introducing a modular design. This is a separate take from most action cams wherein the "gold standard" has been the GoPro which had its own problems with overheating since the GoPro 9.
While I'm surpised that the Action 2 did not include 5k resolution (based on specs), perhaps they ran into the same problems as the GoPro did so they removed it rather than provide the feature and have the same issues.
As for the modular design, I think that it's pretty cool especially since you can transform it depending on your need and purpose. It can serve as a typical action cam, a wearable, and even be mounted especially in bikes or drones.
The Action 2 is definitely gonna give GoPro a run for its money but I find it difficult to find positive points against Insta which, for me, is leading the pack when it comes to action cam tech.
What are your thoughts about DJI's decision to completely revamp the Action 2's design?
