Hiking up the Ape Canyon Trail is like a journey back in time to before the catastrophic eruption of Mt. St. Helens. Here ancient forest reigns supreme on a high and sheltered ridge overlooking debri flows and over which looms the truncated tower of what now remains of the once lofty monarch of Southwest Washington. One may well imagine that the elusive Bigfoot from which Ape Canyon derives its name, may well still haunt this wild country.
I filmed this video back in the fall of 2016 with my (now nonfunctional) original DJI Osmo, but only got around to editing the footage this week.
